Pine Bonsai – Sokan Style (Two Trunks)
Total height of the tree: 1100 mm Width: 1080 mm Trunk diameter: 60 mm and 70 mm Nebari (visible roots): 300 mm x 180 mm Pottery: Unglazed, signed, high-quality ceramic, dimensions: 550 mm x 450 mm x 130 mm Description and Features: This remarkable pine, grown from seed over 60 to 80 years ago, displays trunks with perfect conicity and mature bark, creating an exceptional natural appearance. The tree is a yamadori (collected from the wild), with well-developed plateaus and a structure in perfect harmony with its environment. The character of the tree is profound, marked by obvious signs of aging and an authentic look that will appeal to even the most discerning collectors. The two trunks, perfectly fused at their base in an oblique angle, give this bonsai a unique and expressive appearance. This Sokan style (two trunks) is relatively rare in collections, and this particular tree will surely delight any bonsai enthusiast. Its beauty is enhanced by its slightly bluish needles, a rare feature among seed-grown pines. This particular trait emphasizes the tree's originality, distinguished by the softness of its needles and the elegance of its silhouette. Jins and Deadwood: There are jins (dead branches) at various places on the tree, adding extra character. Depending on your preference, these jins can be peeled and bleached to accentuate their dramatic appearance, or left in their natural state, offering authentic deadwood that highlights the tree's natural look. Condition and Care: This bonsai shows no significant injury from pruning or signs of wiring. It has been carefully reformed, pruned, and wired by Master Katoh in Japan in September 2020, ensuring a perfect shape and healthy structure.
