Enamelled clear blue colored pot of : 550*420*110 mm. The eleagnus, also called silverberry or oleaster is a little tree with a half evergreen foliage, oval and silver-colored on the reverse. The new shoots are copper-colored and the flowers of this tree are perfumed, small and waxy yellow-colored. The flowers will let place to brown/red olive-shaped fruits from 8 to 12 mm in the end of the season. This subject is more than 50 years old and comes from a yamadori. Juniperus chinensis itoigawa 080902314 ref : 12045 Tree height: 440 mm. Branch width: 385 mm. Unglazed pot dimensions: 340*185*55 mm. Style: Moyogi, from the nursery of Mr. Shiraichi. Well-branched subject with graceful branch trays. Superb trunk movement with its natural shari. Genuine bonsai with original jin and shari, not to be confused with Tanuki. Reformed in February 2020 by Mr. Tomoya Nishikawa through structural cutting and copper wire ligature. Admire the strong trunk with a diameter of approximately 40 mm and its unique curvature. Whitening with jin product on the slightly tinted deadwood with charcoal will give it an ashy color, which is very appealing. The Itoigawa variety with fine green scales, particularly vigorous, and perfectly suited for bonsai cultivation, loses very little foliage in early summer compared to Juniperus chinensis. Dense clump ramified at its base with many trunks. This japanese species also called sacred bamboo is a shrub with evergreen foliage. Along years it could reach 1 meter height. Its spring foliage is very bright and is composed of pink leaves at budding that turn creamy white, as it get older the leaves take darker tones. However the new shoots are always amazing with their bright coloration. With the arrival of the first frost, the foliage will take a red/orange color and it will last all along the winter period. This species cultivated in Japan with a wet and hot climate in a full sunlight exposure, requires to be at semi shade in our region. Flowering in white grapes that will give red orange berries. This shrub will fit perfect in small gardens, japanese gardens but also on terrraces for a pot cultivation. To tell you the little story, it was born in 2006 from a nandina domestica seedling. The japanese nursery man who obtained the variety is called Mr Sakaue, from colorful garden in Osaka, he then sold the license to the USA and then in Europe to The Netherlands, where it obbtained a prize at the famous Platarium exhibition in Boskoop. It is currently a protected variety and the multiplication is prohibited.
